Fall Home Tour – The Entry

I have totally been slacking on posting on a regular basis, sorry.  Many of you know that I bought a new “good” camera and I still have no idea how to use it.  Up until now I have used my iPhone camera and in my opinion, it has done a pretty good job!  This new camera makes me think before I shoot.  And this old brain just can’t remember all the rules, so I finally bought some photo editing software so I can edit the pictures I take.  You may not notice a difference, but I do.  Either way, I hope you enjoy the pictures I share.  The Fall Table Scape post got me in the mood to finish decorating the rest of the house for fall and one of my favorite places to decorate is our entry way.

The entry way has very little light, which makes it difficult to photograph.  I guess that means it will give me a good space to practice using my camera and software.  Win, win, right?!

I continued the neutral fall decorating theme from the table scape I shared through out the house.  Normally I love the pop of color that fall brings.  However it was fun to change things up this year and stay with the green and white pumpkins and gourds.  You can see how I updated my old orange pumpkins [here].  In these pictures you will see that I shared two different design ideas.  I love them both!

fall-entry-decor I love the simplicity of the cotton wreath and basket full of pumpkins around the church pew in this vignette.  Simple designs like this feel clean and fresh.  Now check out how I kept the vignette clean and fresh by changing out a few pieces and totally changed the look.

Neutral-fall-decor As a kid I can remember my mom allowing me to hang cardboard Halloween decorations in our windows.  My favorite piece to hang was the skeleton complete with hinged arms and legs!  Oh the scotch tape that was left behind!  (sorry mom)  I don’t decorate for Halloween these days, only fall.  I would love to hear how you decorate for the fall holidays – so leave me a comment!

You can pin any of these images to your Pinterest boards if ya want to, and here is an image you can pin if you want to save the idea!

Decorating-neutral-fall-paletteHappy Fall and happy decorating using a neutral fall palette!

My dear daughter Jodi…..looks like you are getting the hang of the new camera! I love the new fall scape…..it looks great!!! Oh how I do remember your Halloween decorations as a child. Tape marks on the windows were worth watching you have fun making the decorations.

These days, my fall decorating consists of looking out my windows and thinking “I really need to get out there and clean off those flower beds before the snow flies!!!!!!
