Budget Friendly Bedroom Makeover
I recently gave our master bedroom a budget friendly bedroom makeover with a few small changes. Updating the decor in a room does not have to break the bank. Follow along as I share some budget friendly tips to making over any room.

First I like to clear out the room by removing everything I want to change or replace. For this budget friendly room makeover I removed the gray floral duvet cover and matching pillow cases, the gray and white stripe pillow covers and all the items on our night stands. In this room I kept the white quilt on the bed, I mean….it is the perfect blank canvas to start with, right?.
You can read how I keep my white sheets white [here]. These are my favorite sheets of all time, they wash up beautify and do not peel. I will also keep the gray striped duvet cover from Target. If you’re like me, you sleep with the ceiling fan on high and burrow under piles of blankets. That’s until I get a hot flash and need nothing but a sheet……who is with me on this?!
Now that I have the room cleaned out and down to a blank slate, I shop my home before I head to the store. I look around the house finding items I already have in other rooms that could be used in the room I want to update. I look for things like, pictures, vases, flowers or greenery, pillows, lamps, rugs, and blankets. Just because I gather them up, doesn’t mean I have to use them, it just gives me options. Typically when you like a certain style or color trend you tend to use it in more than one space in your home. So pulling pieces from another room is a great way to makeover a room on a budget! So go shopping!
Once I have the pieces gathered that I think I may use, I start to put it together. Remember how I made these night stands out of an old table? You can read more about them [here]. Freshened up our night stands by switching out our old lamps with these lamps from our living room. Removing the old mirrors and replaced them with vintage silhouettes (truth……..they are mine from when I was a kid, so I am an antique!) I really want to keep them simple and uncluttered so I added some blush colored florals in this antique ironstone pitcher.
The green pillow is one I bought on sale after Christmas. Adding a few more touches of green using this pillow helps to pull it all together. I simply turned it backwards, I didn’t really like the word “gather” on my bed…..I don’t know maybe it is just me but I thought it was kinda weird.
I made the pictures above the bed by painting a canvas with chalk paint and using a chalk marker to write out the words. (Super easy and cheap)
Don’t get me wrong, I did go shopping for some things, but you can do this on a budget too. The floral quilt is from Target and to save a few bucks, I bought a twin instead of a king! Since I am using it as a throw at the end of the bed, I didn’t need a king size. I also purchased the blush colored pillows. Normally I would make my own pillow covers like I did in this [post]. Sometimes I have no patience to make them so I buy them! If you don’t sew, you can buy pillow covers on lots of sites like Amazon and Etsy. You can shop my Amazon Store for pillow covers here.
So there you have it, a budget friendly way to makeover any room!

Mission accomplished on the room update for Spring!! Love the wood tones with the white accents. White lamp shades set it all off.
