Hello and welcome to the Summer Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop hosted by AnnMarie & Anne from Simply2Moms! If you’re visiting from Carrie Beth & Jen at The Magnolia Mamas. or if you just happened to stop by, I’m so glad you’re here. It’s been a hot minute (or year) since I have been on here and written a post. Dang, I am a bad blogger! Let’s change that today should we? I want to share with you my updated front porch. I gave it more of a modern farmhouse look and feel.

The rocking chairs are a staple on the porch, I love the welcoming feel they give the space. I wanted to keep it simple so I started by removing everything EXCEPT the chairs! I did a quick DIY and made this sign. I love the modern farmhouse touch and the simplicity of the sign. Maybe I’ll even get around to making a blog post on how it put it together.

This little guy is guarding the place, you know, the mean ole’ mail man might show up! He better be nice to the Amazon delivery guy! When we first built our home I always wanted a wooden front door. Those babies are expensive. So I stained this metal door to look like wood. You can check that out (here). I love layering rugs, it adds so much dimension and texture. Besides, I couldn’t make up my mind on which one I liked best!

I added a couple of throw pillows that I picked up at Walmart for $12 – more texture! Then I filled in the holes with Boston ferns (my favorite!)
